Referendum - 5th May 2022

The Madeley Neighbourhood Plan, which was prepared by Madeley Parish Council following extensive consultation with the local community was put to referendum on 5th May 2022 to decide if the Neighbourhood Plan should be adopted and used in assessing future planning applications in the Parish.

 

The Newcastle-Under-Lyme Borough Council elections team were responsible for organising the referendum. This ensured that the community had the final say on whether the neighbourhood plan came into force within the area.

 

The result of the referendum was overwhelmingly in favour of adopting the Neighbourhood Plan with 86% of votes in favour. The declaration of result can be downloaded at the following link:
